A break into the investigation of a September shooting near the University of Hawaii at Manoa after the car involved in the incident was found.
Honolulu police say on September 20, a man and a friend drove to Metcalf Street to try to find his stolen car.
They found one that looked like it, but a man confronted them before they could get very close.
The two walked away, but then saw the car drive off.
They tried to follow it, but the man who confronted them stepped into the roadway and fired at them with a handgun.
They were not injured.
Although police say they’ve now recovered that car, they are still on the search for a man in connection with the shooting. He is described to be a man in his 20s, 5’4” to 5’7” and between 130 and 140 lbs. with a tattoo across his stomach.
