After the first printout, Sen. Sam Slom trails challenger Stanley Chang for the East Oahu Senate seat, District 9.
It’s a seat he’s had for the past 20 years.
Slom currently has 6,192 votes (45.5%) to Chang’s 6,917 (50.8%).
“We’re expecting a long evening,” said Sen. Sam Slom. “We know there’s a lot more votes to come in, but no matter what happens, I’m happy and blessed with the support that I’ve gotten, which is across the board, Republican, Democrat, Independent, and all the wonderful volunteers I’ve had, friends and family that are here. Couldn’t be in a better position.”
The next printout is expected to be released at 8:30 p.m.
