We’re learning more about the Kauai inmate who escaped and went on a crime spree last week.
According to court documents, on Friday, Nov. 4, Walter Mills went to the First Hawaiian Bank in Lihue and handed a teller a demand note. He was able to make off with an amount of cash.
A short time later, Mills went to the Kmart down the road and bought a BB gun and cell phone.
He then used that BB gun to go on a string of carjackings, some of which he made the victims drive.
Mills also robbed Lifeway Pharmacy of medication.
He was later found passed out in a vehicle parked at Kokee Lodge, and arrested.
Mills is now in federal custody.
