A Kapaa man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after police say he threatened five children and fired shots on his property.
Kauai police responded to a call at around 2:15 p.m. at a property along Olohena Road, across from the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex.
Police claim the children, ages 11 to 14, were on the road when Randy Yamagata, 48, appeared from his property, argued with the children, and discharged a firearm at a tree, reportedly to scare them.
No one was hurt.
Yamagata was arrested for first-degree reckless endangering and first-degree terroristic threatening.
He was released after posting $10,000 bail.
