On the runway at Honolulu Fashion Week at the Hawaii Convention Center they are featuring designs many talents including top Japanese fashion model Rinka.
Just off the runway, there were fashions from Ward Village retailers. They include Eden in Love, Salvage Public, Big Bad Wolf and Kealopiko, which just opened its first brick and mortar store yesterday. Local designers with a focus on indigenous designs.
“Because you know, Hawaii is not really known as a fashion destination. It’s known for hiking, and surfing, and waterfalls, and rainbows. But we have got a lot of fashion talent here. We really wanted to take that message to the world, and show them all of the great things we have beyond just the aloha shirt.” said Honolulu Fashion Week executive director Alyson Helwagen.
On Saturday at 8 p.m. beautiful survivors of severe health conditions take to the runway in a fashion show.
The four-day Honolulu Fashion Week is in its third year.
