Hundreds of performers from Hawaii are getting ready for a major appearance on the mainland.
The Hawaii All State Marching Band is leaving the islands this week to participate in the 90th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
With more than 400 band members and 200 hula dancers, this is the largest band to ever participate in the famed parade.
The performers are from each of the major Hawaiian islands, and attend 41 private and public high schools.
They’ll fly out Friday to Washington, D.C., where they’ll perform at the Upper Senate Park. Then it’s on to New York City for the big parade.
This is the band’s third appearance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade since it was established in 2002.
