Goose spotted on Oahu, but is it a nene?

A goose has been spotted in Ewa.

Viewer Tyler sent in a photo of the bird, taken at Hawaii Prince Golf Club, via Report It.

It appears to be enjoying the grass as a golfer swings nearby.

The bird looks a lot like a nene, but the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says it’s actually a Canada goose, accompanied by a few stilts.

Officials say last year, there were three nene on Oahu, but all have since perished or disappeared.

There are currently no known nene on Oahu, besides those at Honolulu Zoo.
