The Honolulu City Lights are set to welcome in the holiday season. City departments have been working overtime in the tree decorating and wreath contests. Honolulu Hale will be dressed up in Christmas splendor.
On Saturday night, the Honolulu city tree will be lit. There will also be a parade through the downtown area.
As for the schedule, the food booths and keiki rides will open at 4 p.m. Saturday. The parade starts at 6 p.m. Saturday at Aala Park and ends at Honolulu Hale. Then at 6:30, the tree lighting ceremony will take place with Mayor Kirk Caldwell.
There will also be musical performances for the Honolulu City Lights celebration. And jolly ol’ Saint Nick will be at the Mission Memorial Auditorium for picture taking starting at 7:30.
The lights will remain shining bright all the way until the new year is welcomed in.
