The Kalalau trail in the Na Pali Coast State Wilderness Park will be closed to day hikers next week for safety improvements.
The closure will be in effect Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 19-21, for rockfall mitigation, weather permitting.
The project site is located between Haʻena and Hanakapiʻai stream.
Overnight hikers and campers with a valid camping permit will be allowed access on the trail with intermittent pedestrian controls at the work site. Short delays may occur.
