Honolulu police and CrimeStoppers are looking for a woman who was previously arrested in suspicion of burglary thanks to a computer.
They are looking for Michaela Burns.
“The complainant staying at the Ilikai Hotel had her room burglarized and her laptop taken,” said CrimeStoppers Sgt. Kim Buffett.
That’s when officers traced Burns using the laptop’s tracking technology.
“Then complainant called the officer and stated that her laptop was pinging at 1720 Ala Moana Boulevard,” Buffett explained. “The officer and backup went to 1720 and observed only one light on and knocked on the door. The next door neighbor opened the door thinking it was her door and the officer could see a male with the laptop and heard the pinging.”
Burns was then arrested for burglary.
She’s now wanted on a $20,000 warrant for not showing up for trial call last month.
“She has no prior convictions and is known to frequent the Honolulu area,” Buffett said.
