Thousands hit the streets of Honolulu this evening for what’s called the year’s most festive runs.
Walkers, joggers, runners and even dogs lined up at Iolani Palace Sunday afternoon for the Jingle Rock Run 5K main event.
Participants circled around Downtown Honolulu ending again at Iolani Palace.
That’s where KHON2 spoke with the first place runner who was sporting an aloha shirt.
“You know I wore this for festive you know, you got to enjoy the holidays while I’m here on the islands, got to represent,” said Jacques Habert. “I really wasn’t going for the win, just doing it for fun, just happened to win it this time.”
It may be a race, but the Jingle Rock Run is about giving.
All proceeds from today’s event benefit Make-A-Wish Hawaii.
