Westbound traffic on Farrington Highway slowed due to brush fire

A brush fire started in Honokai Hale snarled traffic in West Oahu Sunday morning.

It happened on the mauka side of Farrington Highway near Laaloa Street just before the Ko Olina area.

Firefighters got the call just before noon.

No homes were in danger, but for a while all lanes of the highway were closed, then traffic was contraflowed.

The fire has been extinguished, scorching about two acres.

The cause in yet known at this time.
