State breaks ground on new library for Kapaa Elementary

Kapaa Elementary on Kauai is getting its own library.

Officials broke ground on the $4.5 million project Wednesday.

The elementary school has never had its own student library. Students have to share resources with nearby Kapaa High School.

The funding was awarded in 2014, with estimated completion by winter 2018.
