Radiation Treatment for Cancer

Radiation treatment most often means the use of radioactive particles to damage DNA in cancer cells. It can be given in two ways, external radiation, which is targeted using the machine delivering the treatment, vs internal radiation, when radioactive sources are implanted directly into or near the tumor tissue. Christina K. Speirs from Cancer Center of Hawaii explains the different treatment options.
