Firefighters extinguish dumpster fire in downtown Honolulu

Honolulu firefighters extinguished a blaze in downtown Honolulu Monday night.

The alarm came in just before 9:30 p.m. from a four-story walk-up along Fort Street Mall. Six companies staffed with 22 personnel responded.

The fire was extinguished at 10:08 p.m.

Fire officials say the blaze was confined to a dumpster and while part of the exterior is scorched, no flames entered the building.

No injuries were reported.
