A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Kunia Thursday evening.
It happened at around 6:30 p.m. on Kunia Road, about a mile north of Anonui Street.
Police say a pickup truck was making a left turn from Kunia Road onto a private dirt road when it was hit by a motorcycle going in the opposite direction.
Police say the 28-year-old motorcyclist was thrown onto the road.
He was taken to Queen’s Medical Center West Oahu in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.
Police say he was wearing a helmet at the time.
The truck driver and his front-seat passenger were not hurt.
Police are still investigating whether speed, drugs, or alcohol were factors in the crash.
This is the 45th traffic-related fatality compared to 54 at this same time last year.
