Alex Cerball has a passion for travel and adventure.
She’s backpacked in South America and Southeast Asia, flown a jetpack and jumped out of a plane with the U.S. Army Golden Knights. She is also PADI Open Water certified and has been diving in Hawaii, San Diego, Thailand, and Indonesia.
“I love meeting people and learning about other cultures,” she says. “When you travel to a different location, it helps you understand how people live their lives. You can also learn more about yourself and how you react to different situations.”
Born and raised in Southern California, Alex graduated from California State University, Northridge with degrees in broadcast journalism and psychology. She started her career at KTTV in Los Angeles, and has worked at Al Jazeera’s AJ+, KRON4 in San Francisco, and KGTV, XETV and U-T TV in San Diego.
Alex has always wanted to live in Hawaii and spends a lot of time outdoors, hiking and standup paddling in her free time.
She also volunteers as a Wish Granter for Make-A-Wish Hawaii and at the Institute for Human Services. One of her favorite experiences was helping people find jobs and coaching them through the interview process.
“I wanted to get involved in the community,” she says. “I got to meet so many different people, and seeing them gain confidence at the end of our session was the best part for me.”
Alex is fluent in Spanish and a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
